Carl Bruchhäuser Herec
Carl completed his acting studies at the Folkwang University of the Arts, Essen/Bochum. Since then, he has appeared in various major theatre productions at the Theater Dortmund, Schauspielhaus Bochum and also the Berliner Ensemble, among others. Roles such as Marquis de Posa, Hamlet or his two-hour solo as Werther are part of his repertoire and have shaped his career. Carl made his television debut in 2017 on ZDF (Notruf Hafenkante and Der Staatsanwalt) and after that could be seen in ‚Verbotene Liebe - Next Generation (RTL+)‘ and the multi-nominated and award-winning film ‚Goldjungs‘ (ARD), as well as in the ‚Münster Tatort- Propheteus‘ in spring 2022. Last year, he starred for the TV hit production "Sturm der Liebe" (ARD/Bavaria Fiction) in Munich. With his appearance as "King Pedro of Portugal" in the second season of the Emmy Award-winning drama series "The Empress", Carl will also be able to introduce himself to international Netflix audiences from autumn 2024.
Through his stays abroad, Carl speaks fluent English, Russian and even the South African click language Xhosa. In his hometown, Cologne, he also passionately trains kung fu with a Shaolin grandmaster.
